River Bay Lodge allows me to share my passion on the water. The year in the lodge begins with Winter Steelhead fishing January through April. Fall fishing in October and November includes fall tributary salmon, crabbing and bottom fishing.

Overlooking Tillamook Bay we are able to focus our efforts on the 5 area rivers that offer drift boat fishing. The Nehalem River is just about 30 minutes to the North, the Nestucca River is 30 minutes to the South with the Trask, Wilson and Kilchis Rivers in between. This is the perfect base camp for your steelhead quest.

Important Details

Winter Clothing and Gear:

Expect the weather to be chilly in the morning with the potential for some snow and rain most days. The key is to dress warmly and in layers. Rain gear, top to bottom is a must. Bring waders if you have them. Felt soles are preferred. Rubber or waterproof boots are recommended if you do not have waders. Gloves are optional and hand warmers are a good idea if you have them. We have gear to borrow as well at the lodge if needed.

Food:

All food is provided at SteeleHead Camp and we rarely disappoint. The day will start with a quick breakfast with hot and cold options. Then you will have plenty of choices to make a lunch and pack snacks for the boat. Dinners are hearty and have included everything from Italian to Surf and Turf Steelhead and steaks, a Crab feed and more.

Lodging:

The 3 story lodge features a very comfortable open floor plan, with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms to accomidate up to 9 anglers. It may be possible for others in your party to stay in the house who do not want to participate in fishing. Just call Greg to discuss availability and costs prior to trip. The neighboring home can be acquired to accommodate larger parties as needed.
